Agosto 1, 2018
Con el objetivo de compartir tecnologías y conocimientos para potenciar la oferta de alimentos saludables chilenos hacia el mundo como es el mejillón, ambas instituciones fortalecerán la cooperación mutua para potenciar su valor productivo.
En la ciudad de Castro –y en el marco del seminario-taller “Tendencias en Nuevos Productos y Procesos de la Industria del Mejillón Chileno”, organizado por el Programa Estratégico Regional para la Industria de la Mitilicultura de Corfo Los Lagos– se firmó este protocolo de acuerdo con el Centro Tecnológico para la Innovación Alimentaria, CeTA.
El Programa Estratégico Regional para la Industria de la Miticultura de Los Lagos se centra en dar un impulso competitivo al sector de manera de potenciar el encadenamiento productivo y establecer un desarrollo de la industria, sobre todo en materia de creación de valor añadido, innovación y aplicación de conocimiento y tecnologías para su especialización inteligente en el contexto global.
Asimismo busca desarrollar una actividad eficiente económicamente de elaboración de alimentos saludables de clase mundial basados en el mejillón, con valor nutricional, identidad regional y calidad, apreciados por los mercados nacional e internacional, que sea sostenible económica, social y ambientalmente, y que cree valor para el territorio, las empresas y las personas.
Este memorandum de acuerdo es el primer paso en el interés de colaboración entre ambas instituciones de manera asociativa, para gestionar un buen uso de los recursos, compartiendo la información que resulte conveniente para aprovechar las sinergías entre ellas.
El gerente del Programa Estratégico Regional Industria de la Mitilicultura de la Región de Los Lagos, Javier Aros, comentó que estos acuerdos son los que aportan al desarrollo del programa. “Generar mercados que permitan ser más competitivos y aprovechar las oportunidades del mercado nacional e internacional en virtud de las nuevas tendencias en los consumidores, son oportunidades para todas las industrias de alimentos y eso significa que tenemos que tener una industria capacitada para enfrentar los nuevos desafíos con productos que estén de acuerdo con esta necesidad de consumo”.
Agregó que “CeTA es hoy en día la institución que está en boga y es una las instituciones que está en punta en el desarrollo de estas investigaciones –como una propuesta de CORFO- y para la industria de miticultores es muy importante establecer convenios que permitan desarrollar investigaciones en nuevos procesos para poder abordar estas nuevas oportunidades y en ese sentido, dos instituciones que nacen de CORFO deben coordinar sus esfuerzos para el mejor beneficio de las industrias y de la competitividad del país”.
Para el Presidente del Directorio de CeTa, Andrés Barros, “La industria del mejillón es el mayor ejemplo de una industria exportadora de desarrollo regional, con arraigo y movilidad social local, ligado primordialmente a la consolidación de la pequeña y mediana empresa en el país”. Agregó que “una buena parte del mejillón se vende como no perecible envasado desde Chile o a través de maquila en el extranjero, ahí hay un espacio de capturar capital de marca con denominación de origen que permita manejar listas de precios en vez de la dinámica de commodities”, puntualizó.
Finalmente, el presidente del Directorio de CeTa, dijo que “Nueva Zelandia ha puesto la vara muy alta en esta industria en cuanto a valor agregado, a través del consumo humano, uso farmacéutico, ingredientes funcionales o alimentación animal. Este es un espacio donde CeTA puede acelerar para que el mejillón avance en escalamientos rápidos y con mayor osadía”.
Estos acuerdos forman parte de la Red CeTA, instancia mediante la cual el Centro Tecnológico está agrupando a diversas organizaciones de distintas regiones del país para crear una red de colaboración entre los diversos actores que están participando en la innovación alimentaria en el país.
