Director de Corfo Araucanía y gerente de Capacidades Tecnológicas de Corfo, como así también el recientemente electo gobernador de la región, visitaron las dependencias sureñas de CeTA, ubicadas en la Universidad de La Frontera. En la oportunidad pudieron ver los proyectos desarrollados y la capacidad de las instalaciones que la han convertido en un referente en la industria de la alimentación.
El Centro de Innovación Sur del Centro Tecnológico para la Innovación Alimentaria (CeTA) se ha transformado en un punto de encuentro entre la innovación y emprendedores y pymes de la zona sur de Chile. Esto ha sido posible gracias a la diversa variedad de proyectos en desarrollo, utilizando como materias primas arándanos, maqui y otros frutos del sector.
Considerando la importancia de las instalaciones, un trabajo en conjunto de CeTA y la Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO), el jueves 8 de julio autoridades regionales visitaron el Centro de Innovación para conocer el funcionamiento, la forma en que se trabaja y los proyectos desarrollados en el lugar.
En la oportunidad estuvieron presentes Patricio Esparza, director de Corfo Araucanía; Luciano Rivas, gobernador electo de la región, y Fernando Hentzchel, gerente de Capacidades Tecnológicas de Corfo. Las autoridades fueron recibidas por Jean Paul Veas, gerente general de CeTA, por el Dr. Eduardo Hebel, rector de la UFRO y por Luis Torralbo, director del Instituto de Agroindustria.
De tres centros con los que cuenta CeTA, el del sur fue el primero en ser inaugurado. Actualmente cuenta con diversas líneas productivas y con 45 equipos para pilotar, prototipar y hacer un escalamiento industrial de productos.
El director de Corfo Araucanía, Patricio Esparza, indicó que “como Corfo estamos siempre orientados a potenciar iniciativas que ayuden a los emprendedores a mejorar su producto o diversificarlo. El CeTA, financiado con recurso públicos, es una oportunidad para quienes necesiten asesoría, desde cómo mejorar una etiqueta hasta cómo añadir valor agregado a sus productos”.
En tanto, el gobernador electo de La Araucanía, Luciano Rivas, destacó cómo se ha potenciado el trabajo desde los emprendedores locales y cooperativas. “Hoy lo que estamos buscando es pasar de las materias primas a alimentos con mayor funcionalidad. Es muy interesante el acompañamiento, desde el proceso hasta el embalaje, y estas son alternativas que estamos ofreciendo a un mundo que nos exige nuevas formas de alimentación. Este es un apoyo al desarrollo territorial, al abrir líneas productivas distintas, y las conclusiones son absolutamente positivas para nuestro crecimiento regional”, detalló.
Para Fernando Hentzchel, gerente de Capacidades Tecnológicas de Corfo, la situación de los emprendedores de la industria de la alimentación era un problema, ya que no contaban con espacios en donde pilotar nueva oferta y nuevas formas de agregar valor a productos endémicos, como berries y leguminosas. En ese sentido, recalcó los avances que se han logrado en el Centro de Innovación Sur, desde donde se han producido snacks de legumbres y productos frutícolas que responden a dietas como la keto y vegana.
Respecto al aporte académico que se realiza a los productos, Eduardo Hebel, rector de la UFRO, indicó que “acá tenemos una investigación aplicada, una investigación con sentido que va en beneficio de las personas y de la calidad de vida, no solo desde el punto de vista nutricional, sino de estimular las pymes, mipymes y también ser un motor de la economía regional con una investigación que está aportando a movilizar los distintos sectores productivos”.
En tanto, Jean Paul veas, gerente general de CeTA, hizo hincapié en los conceptos que guían a los proyectos desarrollados en las instalaciones, como los de innovación, economía circular y agregación de valor a las materias primas y a los productos terminados. “En ese sentido, esperamos que esta línea de trabajo continúe no solo en el sur, sino que también en Coquimbo y en la región Metropolitana, donde se ubican los otros centros de CeTA”, puntualizó.
